Readers would remember the high-profile case of Aryan Khan when he was arrested in 2021 by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on charges of possession of drugs. Now, an officer named Vishwa Vijay Singh, who is the Superintendent of NCB, has been sacked. If reports are to be believed, Singh was a key member of the team that raided Cordelia Cruise in Mumbai in which they allegedly busted a drug racket.
NCB officer involved in Aryan Khan drug case sacked
Recent reports have suggested that NCB officials ordered an inquiry in a separate case against Vishwa Vijay Singh in April 2022 and placed him under suspension. According to an NCB official, the findings of the probe led to the dismissal of the officer. Coming to the Aryan Khan case, Singh played a key role in the star kid’s arrest. Singh not only accompanied Sameer Wankhede during the Cordelia cruise raid operation, but also led a team of officers when they visited Shah Rukh Khan’s palatial residence Mannat in Mumbai in connection with the drug raid probe.
As far as the case is concerned, readers would recall that Sameer Wankhede and his team arrested seventeen high-profile names in connection with the case and allegedly seized 13 grams of cocaine, 22 tablets of Ecstasy (MDMA), 21 Gram Marijuana and 5 grams were seized. Gram of Mephedrone with Rs. 1.33 lakh during the raid. Among them was Aryan Khan, who finally got bail on 28 October. The star kid was later given a clean chit due to insufficient evidence. The NCB Mumbai team was placed under Vigilance Probe in November 2022, for some discrepancies during the raids as well as for providing witnesses with prior crime records. Following the probe, the department ordered action against the seven officers, retaining their anonymity.
