Prime Video has announced the global release of its upcoming anthology series Modern Love Chennai. The show will begin streaming on the platform from May 18 in India and over 200 countries. This is the third Indian adaptation of Modern Love, the internationally acclaimed original anthology helmed by John Carney, after Modern Love Mumbai and Modern Love Hyderabad. Produced under the banner of Tyler Durden and Kino Fist with Thiagarajan Kumararaja as producers, the six-episode anthology presents a bouquet of compelling and unique love stories set in the city of Chennai that explore relationships, push boundaries and opens the mind.

Thiagarajan Kumararaja, producer of the series and writer-director of one of the episodes, said, “Love stories and rom-coms have never been easy for me. Thus, Modern Love Chennai was an interesting challenge. It is a pleasure to partner with Prime Video to bring the latest Indian edition to the viewers.
He added, “With these stories, we explored and celebrated the old world charm of the city, which lies in a distinct mix of tradition and modernity. The simple, emotion-love-takes you through a journey of discovery in all its eclectic forms. With Modern Love Chennai, viewers can look forward to a beautiful bouquet of love stories that are funny and quirky, as well as Chennai and its Deep and intense, there are engaging hearts, offering a glimpse into the soul of the unique locales and diverse inhabitants.
Produced under the banner of Tyler Durden and Kino Fist, Modern Love Chennai brings together six prolific creators of Indian cinema – Bharathiraja, Balaji Sakthivel, Rajumurugan, Krishnakumar Ramkumar, Akshay Sundar and Thiagarajan Kumararaja. The composers of the series include Ustad Ilaiyaraaja, Yuvan Shankar Raja, GV Prakash Kumar and Sean Roldan, with lyrics written by Ustad Ilaiyaraaja, Yugabharathi and Bakkiyam Shankar.
